I went to use the iPad last night and nothing would launch. I tried holding down the home button for 20 seconds and holding the power button on top for 20 seconds but it never shut down. Can't access System Preferences, either. Slider to power off never appeared. How do I get this up and running again? Running iOS 14.4, I believe.

That solved it. I was pressing one button or the other but needed to press both as you mentioned. Thanks!
