Repair estimate, Ipad 9.7 Pro charging issue.
Hi,
Couldn't find a topic under iPad covering repairs, so chose older hardware... Edit: and it put me under "Desktops" for some reason.
My (2016) iPad Pro 9.7 stopped charging a while ago (it's been over a year now, maybe two, and has just been in a drawer waiting for me to get around to it).
I am almost certain it is the lightning port. There were no signs of battery wear at all. It just stopped charging from one day to the next (no lose connections or the like, no problems with the battery holding a charge) and of course it died completely eventually.
I went through the "send in for repair by mail" process where I answered questions about the problem (charging issue, won't charge, won't charge with different cables) and ended up with an estimate of 99 dollars, plus shipping expenses.
Does anyone know if this should cover it IF it is the just lignting port and nothing else that needs to be replaced? I don't mind spending a hundred, or even a couple hundred dollars to get my iPad back that was like new otherwise, I just don't want to end up with a larger bill unexpectedly (again, just for te lightning port).
I looked closely to see if it was a diagnostic fee only but it says repair estimate, nothing about diagnostics (of course I get there could be additional fees IF there are additional issues).
Thanks in advance!
