Apple Watch Series 6 & Spotify

Hello,

The other day I went out on a run. I only had my Apple Watch series 6 and wireless earbuds. I started my Spotify playlist and got about .25 miles from my house when all of a sudden the music stopped. My earbuds were still connected and had plenty of battery as did the watch.

I am a runner. I run long distances and I was gifted this watch because of the feature to listen to music without using a phone. Is this a problem with Spotify or the watch itself?

Spotify (maybe)

If you have a cellular Apple Watch, and you have a good cellular signal (note: where I live, cellular signals are weak, and the Apple Watch antenna is not very large), then assuming you have Spotify installed and setup correctly, then you should have been able to stream music.

If the cellular was working with a good signal, then it would be a Spotify issue.

If you do not have a cellular Apple Watch then it is Spotify that has to provide offline music, so you should discuss this with Spotify, as you are a paying customer.

Quarter of a mile might indicate you were either listening via your iPhone and got out of Bluetooth (or WiFi) range, or the cellular signal become so weak that the Apple Watch lost connectivity.
