my touchbar went blank after i upgraded my OS to Big Sur 11.2.3

Please Help My Macbook Pro 2018 started misbehaving after i Upgraded my OS to the latest Big Sur 11.2.3 version. First My Mac was restarting by itself everytime its supposed to be hibernating after which i noticed that my touch bar was blank. I have tried to fix using the Activity monitor method and also try the "kill Script ' method via terminal but none of the method works. Please what do i do?

Hi sherriff241,

Welcome to the Apple community where some of us do our best to help each other.

Here are a couple of things you might like to try ... from Apple's support pages.

One (or both) may help solve the situation,

How to reset the Systems Management Controller on your Mac

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

How to reset the NVRAM/PRAM

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379

All the best

Thanks, that seems to be a really old conversation. Also, it is definitely not looking like a hardware issue since the problem started after updating to v11.2.3. Also, any hardware issue shouldn't make the "customise control strip" option disappear from settings. I have reinstalled the latest version and the problem still persists. I'll be going back to Catalina and seeing if that fixes it. That should clarify it.

So it turns Out after several cycle of going Off and On . It came back to normal and also the system stopped going Off and On . So if your system is also going Off and On , allow it to run its course . After a while your system will boot up again to become normal and your touchbar is supposed to come On by then. If this is normal after upgrading to v11.2.3 , I think apple should state that this should be expected or atleast let it be known that several sequence of “Off and On” is to be expected after the upgrade
