Wifi syncing stopped working - Big Sur

Recently, I found out that the iPhone icon is not on my Mac Finder anymore... iPhone's icon appears when it's plugged in, but when I remove the cable the icon also disappears!!!

Guys, I have followed the steps of "how to sync iPhone and Mac wirelessly". Don't repeat those steps I have followed them and have done it many times.

Eventually, I talked with four different people from apple support and they couldn't help me!!!

I also found out that if I could kill "AppleMobileDeviceHelper" in the "Activity Monitor" the problem could probably be solved. I couldn't find it on Activity Monitor.

Does anybody have the same problem? It's boring to use a cable for transferring files every time!!!

Would be grateful for any help.......

@sberman

Did you understand the situation?

I cannot see iPhone icon on the Finder wirelessly!!! When there is no icon I cannot transfer any files to the iPhone wirelessly. OK?

you should read it more carefully... “when the computer and the device are on the same Wi-Fi network, THE DEVICE APPEARS IN THE FINDER.” I cannot see the device on the finder! OK? This is the problem...

please write here if you really know the solution... thnx

Given the tone of your response, I’ll try one last time ...

Your original post asked about Wi-Fi syncing. Being visible in Finder is only one small piece of solving that issue. The solution I mentioned above addresses the Wi-Fi sync issue.

Being visible in Finder requires Finder > Preferences > CDs, DVDs and iOS Devices be checked.

I’ve spent much more time here than warranted. Good luck.
