old ipod touch wont accept Apple ID verification

i have an old ipod touch and everytime i try to enter my apple ID, it seeks the Apple ID verification on my phone, however when I accept the request, the Ipod does not give me the ability to enter the verification code, spo the process keeps repeating.HELP

Enter the code at the end of the APPLE ID password without spaces..

To sign in with 2 factor authorization, just add the sent code after the password. So if password=pass and code = 110011, just enter pass110011
