time two different clips, but not merge.

I have two tracks, both with audio and video. I want to time (sync) them yet keep them as separate tracks. When I use the automatic sync-feature I loose the video on one of the tracks. I can of course time manually, but it is more difficult than expected. Is there an automatic way to do this?

I'm working in fcpx 10.3.4
