Why doesn't copy/paste seem to work in Mac Photos?

Apple Mac Photos is so frustrating.

- No right click to copy a photo

- No Cmd+C to copy a photo

- When I (tediously) selecting Edit/Copy, and then try to paste into Mail, nothing happens.

Arrrgh. Photos is such a mess.

Any suggestions?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.2

Do it the other way - when in mail, select the attach file (paperclip) icon - choose photos in the media section and attach from there:
