What is your model Apple TV? Identify your Apple TV model - Apple Support
The pairing code would be displayed on one device, to be entered on the other device.
For Apple TV (4th generation or later), the display/entering is reversed from the 3rd generation.
Apple TV (2nd generation) is not supported for the software remote in Control Center.
