Why is two-factor authentication always required with Firefox ?

Has anybody been able to figure out why two-factor authentication always comes up when Firefox is restarted, even if 'Keep me Signed in' has been ticked? Other browsers such as Chrome and Edge do not have this limitation.

Is there some setting in Firefox that could help? Or is this iCloud issue?

Windows, Windows 10

Good idea, they found the issue right away. In Firefox, I had the "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" security option active and with no exceptions defined. After adding an exception for https://www.icloud.com I can now trust this browser and sign in just as easy as with the other ones.

Hello Juha6464,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities, and we'll be happy to help in any way we can. We understand you're having issues with authentication in the Firefox application. Does this only pop up when using FIrefox? Do you have this issue when using Safari? Does it ask for an Apple ID verification code as described here: Two-factor authentication for Apple ID

Cheers!

Yes thats correct, only with Firefox. Chrome and Edge do not have this issue. This is a windows desktop but presumably there is no issue with Safari either. Verification code is being asked ever time I restart Firefox, or even without restarting, if enough time since the last icloud.com visit has elapsed.

It looks like this is a well known problem since I see many other people mentioning it too. But how to fix it ?
