Texts sending from email not phone number after new SIM installed

After installing the recent update 14.4.1 on my iPhone Xs, my SIM card failed. I went to my carrier (Verizon) and they installed a brand new SIM card. However, one of my friends (contacts) said that my text messages are showing as being sent from my email address, not my cell number.

i have tried everything that I know of to fix this but can’t. Please help!

iPhone XS, iOS 14

Hi fun4suz,

We see you're sending texts from your email address rather than your contact number.

To get started, when your carrier swapped your SIM, did your number change? If so, is that change reflected on your iPhone under Settings > Phone > My Number? If not, and you're able to edit that area, enter your current number.

After that, confirm if your correct number shows under Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. You should see an option with your phone number under both sections there and it should be selected. From there, test the issue again.

See more info about adding your phone number to iMessage here:

If you have any further questions, or if you have the incorrect number in Settings and are unable to update it, let us know.

Cheers!
