Hi.
I would like to use a text editor to edit the mail.app rules instead of using the built-in rules editor in Mail.app (it is extremely slow).
The actions I like to edit are quite simple: If + From + contains a specific domain + then + Move Message to a specific folder/mailbox.
Where are mail.app rules stored on Catalina ?

They are in ~/Library/Mail/V7/MailData/SyncedRules.plist,
But, I don't know if it will read that data when it starts up.
That all may be written to the Envelope Index which is a sqlite3 database.
Continue to use the Mail Rules editor. I do not find any lethargy in its usage, and Mail rules are not conveniently stored anywhere as plain text, so your attempting to use TextEdit will lead you nowhere.
