I know it's not really a question or a problem, but now Apple has discontinued the HomePod original, maybe it's time to flood Product Feedback - Apple to beg for an upgraded HomePod Classic, a kind of V2 with Thread, UW1, and, why not, better chip. I will do !
Your opinions of the future of the HomePod line ?
I’m very disappointed to hear this. I like the big HomePods better, although it’s too big and clunky. I’d prefer they upgraded the mini to sound better. I hope “focus” means that and I’ll gladly pay more for them too. I don’t think they will, they seem set on competing with the lower prices of their competitors. I’m a big Apple fan and I don’t mind paying more for their products, but not all people think this way.
To me this is the equivalent of saying we’re getting rid of the full size iPads and will focus on the minis. Those things are for kids!
I hope they have something we could call HomePod Max in the pipeline to keep an HomePod line active, and not to have a lonely HomePod mini for years in shelf. AirPods are now a great family of products with the regular, the pro and the max. I hope to be able to buy various HomePod products in the future for the ultimate Home Cinema / Multiroom experience.
Hello, I really sad to now the Apple HomePod original is discontinued, I have invest in this product to my smart house, I here 2 HomePod in my living room connected to my Apple TV as stereo pair, and is great have a great sound, works as Hub to my Homekit, and works as smart speaker to my smart house.
My most important feature is the stereo pair Dolby soround connected to my Apple TV.
I hope they steel let us to connected the HomePod to a Apple TV as a home theater audio automatically, this is the best feature.

This doesn't answer the question "will Apple be releasing a new, improved product to replace the HomePod?" I don't want a HomePod mini, I want the far superior (in my opinion) HomePod speaker. I was going to purchase a number of units for my new home, but I've put that onto the back burner until such time as Apple tells me "what's up" with the future of the HomePod.
Sigh! This is a MAJOR disappointment.
