I have an older iPad. Plugged it in to power source, tried to turn it on, all i get is the Apple logo flashing on the screen for a few seconds and it goes to black and loops again to the Apple logo. I tried holding down home and power etc. Nothing seems to get it out of this loop. When i plug it into the USB on my iMac or MacBook, it is a dead black screen with no Apple logo. Anybody have any solutions?

Don't bothet doing anything more or spending any more time with this almost 10-year old iPad 2.
Apple has long stopped supporting 8-10-year old iPad models and there are almost no more compatible apps available to these old iPad models, any longer.
Just recycle the device responsibly.
It is pretty much a useless and obsolete device, now, in 2021.
Sorry.
Recycle it.
