Apple Card return for iPhone on installment plan

I returned an iPhone within the 14 day return period and Apple processed the return with no issue. However, the first installment on the phone and the tax from the initial charge have not been refunded (it has been 2 weeks since the return was processed by Apple). Not only that, but I was CHARGED the 3% cash back onto the card that I would have gotten on the purchase, so now I owe more than before I initiated the return. I spent an hour on the phone with Goldman Sachs, and they have no idea what's going on and were not able to resolve the issue. Apple Wallet does not even have an option to dispute charges like other credit cards do.

To me, it's simple, return a product within the return period and end up with $0 balance, not $150. What a nightmare. I strongly discourage people from enrolling in Apple Card.

You do not owe more technically since you are not entitled to cash back for a purchase you did not make or returned. As far as reporting it follow these steps (you can also call Goldman Sachs at 1-877-255-5923.

If your refund is approved, the funds are applied to the same payment method that you used to buy the item. Here's how long it takes for a refund to appear on your account or statement:

Store credit—It might take up to 48 hours to see the refund in your Apple ID balance.

Mobile phone billing—It might take up to 60 days for the statement to show the refund. Processing time might be affected by your carrier. You can contact your carrier for an update.

All other payment methods—It might take up to 30 days for the statement to show the refund. If you don't see the refund after 30 days, contact your financial institution.
