I recently changed internet providers and I would like to connect my gmail to Apple Mail. OS10.15.7
When I take the steps outlined on the internet I get the following error message: "Failed to authenticate with Google, please try again later"

The real problem seems to lie between the Telus modem and my Netgear Router. Yesterday, there were a few websites I could not access, Amex for one. This am, I turned the router off, and I was able to access the websites I could not yesterday AND setup my email with absolutely NO problems. Thanks for trying to assist me. : )

Make sure imap and pop mail is still selected on gmail. If not, do that. And if it’s already selected, make sure pw is correct, including case sensitive.
What a world, and guess what? This morning I experienced similar issues with my internet service provider. I called them and had them reset my connection on their servers. Which fixed the issue for me.
Where you able to verify the imap and pop settings?
I have never installed gmail on this machine. Previously I forwarded my gmail to my shaw mail account. My new provider, Telus is using google for email and I am trying to set it up.
