iPhone 8 Plus SN is for a product that has been replaced, Should I worry? What that means?

Hello!

I bought a used Iphone 8 plus from a store as a gift for my gf. After 6 months i was curious about how "original" is this device. Then i search for the serial number at her device and i put it on the apple suport search bar. The message was "Sorry, but this is the serial number for a product that has been replaced. Check your information and re-enter the serial number. If your information is correct, you may need to contact us."

Also, i tried with my serial number (iphone xs max also used) but it was fine. Should i worry? What that means?

They aren't necessarily fake but they may be an item that Apple replaced under warranty but then never received the original item from the person who applied for warranty service. So they could be essentially "stolen" and Apple will not service them if there is a problem with them.
