My Favorites Icons have been greyed out. No recommended solutions work. I have the latest Big Sur update. This is when my icons got greyed out!

My greyed out icons were just my long-established Favorites.
I did try Restart but they just stayed greyed out. Based upon an earlier piece of advice I also tried going to a Favorite website multiple times but nothing happened. They stayed greyed out.
Before trying your suggested start up in Safe Mode, I tried one last thing--I clicked on a Favorite (Vox) and then selected "Add a Bookmark." I thought it might duplicate that Favorite and that the duplicate might not be greyed out. Lo and behold, I got a new (replacement?) Vox Bookmark with its distinctive Yellow icon!
I then repeated the process with all 23 icons. I bit of a pain but it worked.
As you might have worked out, I am not very technical but sometimes things work out "by accident."
Anyway, problem solved, but I am sure that the other solutions you proposed would have worked a lot faster.

We understand your bookmark favorites are greyed out. We'd be happy to provide some recommendations to resolve this! Does this happen with newly created bookmarks? Are all saved bookmarks greyed out or just Favorites?
If you haven't already, restart your Mac to see if anything changes. Should it continue, start up in Safe Mode, test it out, then restart again to exit safe mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac.
If necessary, Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac.

Move the cursor near the word Favorites. A little > sign will appear. Click to twirl it open:
