Downloaded images off of gmail poor resolution

Hello,

just wondering if anyone knows how to fix this. I just got an iPhone 12 max. My husband edits photos on light room, and exports them at the right settings and quality for Instagram and then sends them to me via gmail. From there I just download the photos onto my phone and then upload them to Instagram.

Every time I did this using my previous iPhone 8 the quality of the photos were fine and not degraded. Now when doing this on my iPhone 12 max the photos have lost some quality, and look noisy and blurry. We are not doing anything different in our process and don’t know what is goi wrong.

If anyone knows about this or how to fix it that would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Google is further compressing your photos. Take them out of your workflow.
