As two previous Contributors have suggested - Remove Norton AV software ONLY as per the Developers Instructions. Do not Drag and Drop to Trash as some Applications require very specific methods to remove. Using Drag and Drop may leave artifacts of the application still on the computer.
AntiVirus, Disk Cleaner, Optimizers, Defrag, VPNs etc installed which should be removed as per Developers Instructions. They are useless, unneeded, cause havoc and interfere with the normal operation of the OS and may even Corrupt the OS requiring a Reinstallation.
Effective defenses against malware and other threats
Visit https://malwarebytes.com and download the free malware scanner. It is much better for macOS than Norton is.
Remove any malware that it finds.
And I strongly recommend that you immediately uninstall Norton. It definitely slows down your computer and often causes other problems. Lastly, it is totally unnecessary as Macs do not get viruses.
