Gmail theme/background image won't work on Safari

Hi!

I’m having some issues with my Gmail theme/background image. I selected a new picture (one of my photos) as my new theme but then I log off and every time I log back in the picture’s gone and instead there’s a dark grey background and a notice appears saying “Ups! The selected image could not be loaded”. I’ve tried logging in on Gmail on Google Chrome and it works there but not on Safari, so I’m assuming Safari is the problem.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

Thank you!

Hey there, brunomirandalencastre!

Welcome to Apple Support Communities! If we understand correctly, you added a theme to your online Gmail.com account, and it does not keep the saved settings in Safari but does in the Google Chrome app. Is that correct? If so, we can understand why you would want to have that looked at further.

What type of Mac are you using? What version of the macOS is currently on the Mac? Here's information on how to Find out which macOS your Mac is using. Has this background theme shown up correctly in the past? If so, Clear your browsing history in Safari on Mac. Once this has been cleared, quit all the running apps on your Mac. If needed, here's info on how to Quit apps on Mac and power off and restart your Mac.

We hope that helps to correct the issue.

Take care!
