Apple TV only showing Apple Logo on TV. Won't restore and computer won't recognize Apple TV
Hey guys, I have a 4th Gen Apple TV (HD not 4K). I haven't used it in about a year or so, but when I plugged it in to my TV, the only thing that appears on my TV screen is the APPLE LOGO. Nothing else, and it just remains there. No menu, no options.....NOTHING BUT THE LOGO!!
I've tried:
- Connecting the Apple TV to my new Mac computer BUT the computer won't recognize it and it won't pull up under devices (or anywhere else) in Finder.
- I've tried MULTIPLE mini USB cords (still no connection)
- ITUNES NO LONGER EXISTS, so ALL of the online videos that show "how to restore Apple TV" are out of date and no longer work because again........ITUNES DOESN'T EXIST anymore. I am running BIG SUR on my mac so as you know, Apple Music and Apple TV apps are available but not iTunes. Oh and the plugged in Apple TV isn't being recognized or pulling up in either of these apps either.
- I've tried restarting the Apple TV (hold the MENU + PLAY buttons until it blinks fast)......it restarts but then again.....Apple logo and nothing else.
- I've tried holding the MENU and VOLUME DOWN buttons until it blinks fast).......it restarts but then again.....Apple logo and nothing else.
- Plugged the Apple TV into an older Mac running on High Sierra (because it still had iTunes) and the Apple TV will still not show up in iTunes on that computer either.
Not sure what else to do here. Can anyone help give me some tips or steps to do that aren't the norm. I've seen others online with this same problem and it seems like none of those chat lines ever end up resolving the issue for them either.
PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME TO CLICK ON SETTINGS ON THE APPLE TV. I HAVE NO MENU because all I see on my screen is the APPLE LOGO. NO MENU! Really hope someone can help me (and others) out.
