Problems hearing caller

Hello. I have an iPhone 8 Plus. The volume is turned to high. When I receive phone calls I can barely hear the caller and some of their words are muffled. Any suggestions?

Can't hear caller on iPhone 12 Pro unless on Speaker I cannot hear the caller on my iPhone 12 Pro unless I have it on speaker. I can only barely hear someone and it sounds muffled. I haven't spilt anything on it and don't know why I am having this problem. Please any help would be greatly appreciated!

iPhone XS volume all the way up, but u can hardly hear callers. iPhone XS volume is very low when answering a call. Speaker works fine. i have rebooted, etc. any ideas ?

If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker
