Blank screen when logging into Office 365 on Big Sur

When I try to log into my companies Office 365 account on Big Sur I'm getting a blank screen where it says "Enter the password for the account".


There should be a Microsoft login screen / a security check.


Anyone else have this issue? Or know a solution?


Previous Apple answer to this same question was to upgrade to o365 2019, I am running the latest version of O365 and still get the blank screen with just a Cancel button.

We'd like to help get you signed into Microsoft Office 365 with your company's account.


Let's start with confirming some basics:

  1. You mentioned already trying, but it asks for a password to the account. What happens when you attempt to put in the password? The more details you provide, the better equipped we'll be to help.
  2. As you mentioned already having macOS Big Sur(11.0) installed, we wanted to let you know the latest is macOS 11.2.3. You can verify the version number installed by clicking on the Apple logo at the top left corner of the screen, then on ‘About This Mac’. Here's how to first Back up your Mac with Time Machine, and afterwards, here's How to update the software on your Mac.
  3. You also mentioned already contacting Apple Support, and trying their suggestion of upgrading to the 2019 version of Microsoft Office 365. While you may need to get back in touch with them, we wanted to ask if you've already contacted Microsoft about this and see what they have to say?

Looks like you can rule out being outdated for both Microsoft 365 2019 and the latest macOS version installed.


While you may need to reach out to Apple Support about this, we recommend doing two things at this time:

  1. Contacting your work's IT department about this as it's their account you're attempting to use
  2. Contacting Microsoft support here: Contact Us - Microsoft Support

Hi jdo_apple,


When I attempt to connect I get a blank box, I have no option to input my logon credentials just a cancel button.


I am running macOS version 11.2.3


I didn't contact Apple support, I found the same problem on this forum from someone else that appears to have gone unresolved. I then opened my own as there has been no traction on that other persons question in some time.
