i bought a 2014 macbook air that is running os x but it wont let me sign into my imessages or facetime i put my apple id and my password but it ask for apple id verification code is required but there is no where to put the code

If you see a password box, enter the password (ABC) followed by the code (123) or ABC123 (no spaces).
