Hey, i’ve been seeing this issue from past few months. My macbook suddenly started performing poorly and the CPU usage is always high. Even the startup time is thrice as before. I performed some performance test, everything seems fine except 100% CPU usage. This is my geekbench score along with Intel Power Gadget stats. Is it hardware issue?

Suggest opening Activity Monitor >> View >> View All processes and check both CPU Tab and Memory Tab for unusually usages. There might be a Runaway Application / Process. Force Quit - careful if system process - and retest.

I’ve tested cleaning everything from memory to extra tasks, the key issue is with CPU running at 400hz even it can go up to 1.8Mhz. I tried accessing open firmware to reset default but inaccessible. Is there anything that can let me overclock or get it back to normal cpu power?
Firstly, Open Firmware is not native to Apple computers and using it may damage the computer. Secondly, if as you say the CPU is only running 400hz and go to 1.8Mhz there is something wrong and it should be looked at by Apple Certified Service Centre for evaluation.
