Apple Music abruptly stops playing a song when I play music not in my library (when I'm browsing for music) and I navigate elsewhere. The song will continue playing if I'm on the page where I initiated the play, but as soon as I navigate elsewhere, the song stops and the "now playing" section clears out.

I think the issue here is that when you navigate elsewhere the Show Complete Album function is cancelled, and thus Music drops the connection to any tracks that it revealed, stopping playback if one of them is currently playing. One approach would be to open a second window on a playlist for browsing.
