Command Click no longer selecting non adjacent objects.
Since updating to version 10.xx I can no longer select non adjacent objects in Pages. Is anyone else having this issue?
MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.13

I’m not sure which version I was using but if it’s official no longer a function I guess there’s not much I can do. It does seem strange to me for them to drop this and have command click just do nothing. Looks like I’m switching to a different program. Too bad. I liked pages.

Hi Jason,
Is Viking correct in assuming you mean "non-contiguous text."
or are you referring to "non adjacent objects," as stated in your title?
If the latter, does your statement infer that it is possible to add "adjacent" objects to a selection in the current version of Pages to a selection, as shown in this example from an earlier version of Pages:
The four objects were selected by
clicking the upper table, then command-clicking the second table, the yelllow shape and the green shape in that order.

Barry
Apple has not supported non-contiguous text selection since Pages '09 v4.3. None of the Pages v5 (Oct 2013) through the current Pages v10.3.9 support this feature. No workaround is available other than to use another word processing application (e.g. LibreOffice) that does support it with the command key.
Before I updated to version 10 I was able to select a line of text, and, using command click select another line of text further down the page, leaving the lines in between unselected. It still works with TextEdit, but there isn't much you can with that program. My issue is more with text than anything else.
Interesting.
In Pages 5.6.2, selecting any amount of text, then using click or command click drops the initial selection.
Did you update from Pages 4 (Pages '09)? That was, I think, the last version to support selection of non-continuous text.

Barry
