German Keyboard (@ button doesn't work or '+' sign is also not functional !) in new MacBook Pro

Hello,

I have bought new MacBook Pro (m1 chip) and my keyboard is German. For the first time now while I opened the MacBook Pro, with '@ ' sign works for wifi password. After that I cant able to type '@' button even when trying with pressing 'Option and L' . Also if I press '+' sign , its not working as expected .

Please suggest how can I resolve it

Do you see the @ sign printed on the L key? or on the Q key?

If it is on the Q key, you need to go to system preferences > keyboard > input sources and make sure that you have "German Standard" there (NOT "German"). Then the output will match the keys.

If you have @ printed on the L key, or just prefer it that way, then use the input source called "German".
