Understand that we should be using the standard Libraries related to the Mac os while compiling the C programs in Mac Terminal- where could I find the list of these libraries specific to mac - for instance <conio.h> can be used and Stdlib.h should be used !! - Such details are required - is there a reliable source where I can check this ?

/usr/bin/apropos 3 .
You can use
man function_name
to get usage information. If man does not find it, then it is not available on the Mac.
So if you know of a function you want to use, you can just use man to verify it is available.

In the Terminal, don't overlook the INTRO(3) man page, which is the introduction to the C libraries:
