login Apple ID and icloud

I was locked out my apple I.D for a while and just recovered my Apple I.D today. However, I just purchased the iphone 12 Pro Max and I transferred my Andriod phone number and infomation to my iphone 12 Pro Max. Why am I not allowed to login to my icloud or apple I.D on my iphone 12 Pro Max device ? Is their anyway you could assist me ? the last phone that is shown on file is a iphone 6plus under that apple I.D that I just recover today after purchasing my Iphone 12 pro Max from AT&T.

If you transferred data from Android to the iphone12 then you must have set it up with an Apple ID first, or it was already set up with another Apple ID.

so...

If you didn't set it up from the Hello screen, do you mean you bought a "ready-to-use" pre-owned phone?

In that case get a refund or ask the previous owner to unlock it, if you can find the person who sold it you


Or you set it up with another Apple ID and want to change to this new Apple ID?

In that case you should back up the phone to a computer (not iCloud)

Reset to factory using Settings, General, Reset, Erase all content and settings

You will need the old AppleID password to do this reset.

Then set up from the Hello Screen using the new ID

Restore the data from the computer backup.

No ... I did not set the iphone 12 pro max up from the hello screen using the apple ID. my apple ID just was recovered later that night . I WANT TO register it to my iphone 12max . How do I go about it? B/c when I go to settings to connect it. A message comes up stating it is having problem connection to the Apple ID server
