What is emergency override mean?

My phone says it detected liquid and I plugged in my phone charger for a sec and it says emergency override. What does that mean?

I got the “liquid detected” notification when I tried to charge my phone, and left it to dry but I eventually had to use the emergency override to charge it up. Is the emergency override permanent once enabled? I plugged my phone in to charge several hours later with no “liquid detected” notification. I’m not sure whether that means that the phone is dry and functioning normally, or if the override is blocking the notification.

what happens if i do an emergency override? if i got water in my charger port and i do the emergency override to charge my phone, what will happen?

It will bypass the liquid detection and allow you to try and charge it.

This is to remind you that there may be water in your charging port and your iPhone may be damaged. However, you will have the option to continue charging if you are in an emergency. I would recommend that you take the lightning cable out.
