Firmware file was corrupt

I have forgotten the password to my iPhone 6s, so I tried a few times until it said "iPhone is disabled" "connect to iTunes" and so I did a bit of researching and tried restoring it to factory settings with my mac, and it said it needed to be updated, so I clicked "update and restore" and waited for a while, and then a message popped up that just says, "Firmware file was corrupt, try disconnecting and reconnecting your phone" or something like that, and I'm not sure what I should do next.
