My Apple Watch has not detected 2 falls that I have had. Each time I was helped or gotten up quickly. Ironically an alert went off once as I stood in a check
out line. How do I determine if it that feature is actually working properly?

At this point, all can say is contact Apple Support.
i tested the watch by standing on a ladder & falling on my bed. Did not move for almost 2 minutes. The watch did not do anything.
I checked the settings & fall detection was on
