Is battery life improved when I turn off cellular data?

I recently learned that regularly turning off Bluetooth does not save much battery life, but is this true with cellular data? Does it depend on whether or not Wi-Fi is being used?

The only time I would recommend turning off cellular data is if you're in an extremely low signal area. That does tend to use up battery life very quickly. But, unless you spend a lot of time in a very deep basement or live in a rural area, leave it on.
