Is there a generic postscript printer driver for Mojave?

Not exactly. However, there is an open source group of drivers which will see printers when you add them in Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Printer. Hold the Option key, when you go to add a printer.

Otherwise look for printer drivers on the printer manufacturer website.
