I have an iPhone X running iOS 14.4.1 whenever I create or modify a calendar event it takes minutes for the phone to process it. I can make an event in the same calendar on my iPad or Mac in seconds so I know it’s not an issue with the actual calendar. This issue had existed for a while

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand you're concerned about a delayed response from your Calendar app when modifying events.
Does the same delay occur when creating a new event? Are these events originally created on your other Apple device? Is this an iCloud calendar or another third-party account calendar?
We'd recommend force quitting the Calendar app, then restarting your iPhone and test modifying an event again.
