Homekit Error Messages with Eufy cam

So ever since I decided to re-add my Eufy Cam to Homekit, I've been noticing that the connection between the camera and the Home app will disappear for anywhere between a few minutes to a few hours. I'll get a notification from the Home app saying that the camera is offline and cannot be reached but I can still access and use the camera using the Eufy Security app on my iPhone.


I have tried everything I can think of to prevent this from happening as I will be adding more Eufy cameras to my home soon so I wanted to see if there is anything else I could try to prevent the cameras from going offline.


  • I've restarted my Apple TV (which is my hub) multiple times
  • Set the Apple TV to never sleep to keep the constant network connection
  • Removed and re-added Apple TV as the home hub multiple times
  • Triple checked that the Camera is on the correct network with the correct wifi band (2.4ghz)
  • Made sure that both the Apple TV and camera are on the same network


More often than not, I'm able to view and use the camera through the home app but every once in a while, I'll get a message that the camera is offline and nothing seems to fix it. I just have to wait for it come back online.


Any thoughts?

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. We understand that your connection is being lost between your camera and the Home App. You've done some great troubleshooting so far. Have you also deleted and reinstalled the Eufy Security app on your iPhone as well? Is your iPhone updated to the latest iOS release? You can verify this in Settings > General > Software Update.
