iPhone 12 Pro Max Bluetooth Disconnects from my GMC Sierra

I have an iPhone 12 pro max and I am having problems connecting to my 2010 GMC SIERRA. The phone connects to the truck but when placing a call it says, “call cannot be completed on your Bluetooth phone.” The call does go through but only on the phone and not the truck. Please help. If it is a truck issue, is there something the dealership can do?

iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 14

Hello, mrjoshau44!

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities! We understand you're having trouble connecting and making calls between your iPhone and truck. We'd like to lend a hand to get things connecting again!

To clarify, have you been able to connect and make phone calls from your iPhone/truck in the past? If so, let's go ahead and unpair your iPhone and truck, then pair like it was the first time to help establish a fresh connection.

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth, tap the "i" next to the Bluetooth name for your truck, then "Forget This Device".

You can then go to your Bluetooth settings on your truck stereo and remove it there as well. You might want to refer to the user guide for specific steps.

Once they are both removed, use the steps in the following resource to connect them again:

Pair a third-party Bluetooth accessory with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Feel free to post an update for continued support.

All the best.

Thanks for the reply, mrjoshau44!

Since this started after updating your iPhone, have you checked to make sure the firmware for your vehicle is using the latest version? Also, have you confirmed your car stereo is compatible with the latest iOS? You might want to reach out to the dealer to confirm the details and have them check for updates.

If this persists and you've visited the dealer, Contact Apple Support.

Take care.
