<Image Install> Bootcamp Error

Hello everybody!

I've been trying to install windows on my Mac for a long time now and I can't seem to get it to work. I have downloaded the most recent ISO file from Microsoft for Windows 10, 64 bit, English version. The boot camp download always completes but when my Mac restarts and goes into windows that's when it fails by popping up with an image I have attached below. I watch YouTube tutorials on how to install Bootcamp and the method they were using is the one that I used and it doesn't seem to work for me. I also watched Boot Camp error videos and none of them related to this.

Anything helps, thank you.

  • You will need two different USB flash drives, which should be USB2.
  • Using BC Assistant Action -> Download, get the Windows Support Software for W10.
  • On the Windows PC, build a USB Installer using Windows Media Creation Tool.
  • In Disk Utility. create a FAT partition, of the size you want Windows to be.
  • Connect the USB installer and reboot and hold Alt/Option. Choose the Windows icon from the Orange USB and try to install W10.
  • If the W10 installation is successful, you can install the Bootcamp drivers using setup.exe from the second USB.

You will need to use macOS Terminal. Here is an example.

Macmini-i18:Downloads $ ls -lgh *.iso
-rw-r--r--@ 1 staff   5.1G Oct 20 11:32 Win10_1909_EnglishInternational_x64.iso
-rw-r--r--@ 1 staff   5.7G Oct 31 12:07 Win10_20H2_English_x64.iso
-rw-r--r--@ 1 staff   5.8G Dec  5 16:54 Win10_20H2_v2_English_x64.iso
Macmini-i18:Downloads $ openssl md5 Win10_20H2_v2_English_x64.iso

What is the year/model of your Mac (do not post the serial number)?

What is the current macOS version?

YouTube videos may show a different model then yours, and are of questionable value, in very specific cases. If you followed the standard BC installation, it is the least problematic.
