Espresso extension screen not working with MacBook Air M1

Hi, I have a MacBook Air M1 13" and an Espresso extension screen. The extension screen worked well with my old MacBook Air (2014). But when I connect the M1 to the screen, the screen displays hash. I am using the M1 supplied USB-C to USB-C cable. I am using the correct port on the extension screen (lower of the two USB-C ports) and I have tried this with a separate power supply connected to the screen in case it was a power problem. I have tried every option on the System Preferences>Displays>Arrangement tab. But still nothing. Any ideas or comments anyone? Rob.

Hi rtdbolton,

We understand you're having some problems connecting your Espresso display to your MacBook Air M1, and we'd like to help. To get started, which version of macOS are you using? From looking at the website, it appears the display is compatible.
