My Eizo screen CG277 does not show/ work when connected to my new MacBook Pro M2 I am using a HDMI USB C to HDMI cable . The cable supports HDCP 2.3 and up to 8K

The screen is blank but the computer sees the screen type. I accidentally expanded the screen and now cannot see the controls on the laptop . I have to pull out the screen cable to see my laptop screen..

Mirror the Screen to this External Display:

Performing the following will mirror the Home Screen, and allow you to use it as if it were you laptop's screen.

  • Without Touchbar: Hold Down [command + F1]
  • With Touchbar: Hold Down: [command + dull screen]

Troubleshooting Video Output and HDMI:

A. Use a 4K Cable:

4K is what you are looking for: Belkin UltraHD High Speed 8K/4K HDMI Cable (2m) - Apple

B. Restart the Mac:

Having just installed the update, restart the Mac.

C. Single-Out this User:

Try an Admin new user, see if you do not get this occur while in it. If so, then it is an issue with the configuration of the current user. If not, then it is an issue with the entire Mac.

D. Reset the SMC and your NVRAM:

(Applies to Intel-Based Macs Only) Sometimes when changes are made to the system(i.e. updates), system configurations (i.e. for Ports) become manipulated, technically. So, reset the SMC and NVRAM.

E. Boot into Safe Mode:

When you boot into Safe Mode, items load by default, with certain settings and caches set aside. Go here: Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support

Downloaded iTunes Movies and TV Shows Not Playing Off a Mac:

As for me, when I connect my 4K projector to my Mac, I can play any video just fine. But, if it is downloaded, it just will not play. So, are these items you are playing on this screen iTunes purchases that you playing off of your Mac? Apple can't seem to find a fix, despite having posted this 3.5 years ago: "This monitor does not support HDR playback.” - 10.15.3 Upgrade Error - Apple Community

"Thanks for the tip but it didn't work with the screen plugged in.. Looks like I need to fix the cable issue first: I fixed the problem by simply telling my Eizo screen to use the HDMI port!.. I wrote to Image Science a company in Melbourne and they suggested this to me. Thank you so much for your help. I now know some short cuts.
