iMovie Will Not Migrate Photos and Videos Using MacBook Pro

iMovie will not migrate photos and videos from the Photo Album on my MacBook Pro (using Big Sur). I followed all steps as I routinely have in the past, but the drop down box will not appear in ‘My Media’. I checked online for possible changes, but couldn’t find anything. Has the process changed. Any assistance will be appreciated.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.2

Confirm that your Photos library is designated in the Photos app general preferences as the system photo library.

If O.K. there, try deleting preferences. Open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and select to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects.  Deleting preferences is a safe procedure that will not cause data loss or disruption to your project.
