Hi, the emoji's on my Mac Pro are only partially displayed, meaning some are, some aren't. Although Apple Emoji's are activated through Fontbook (and Suitcase) I still get mixed results. Ranging from Finder to Safari and Aple MaiI. I made a few screenshots to look at. And there's an EtreCheck. Any ideas? TIA!

New emojis are added every year, but you have to update MacOS to the latest version to get the font that includes everything.
Can you paste that heart emoticon here?
Turns out to be a Safari issue. I opened the same Linked-In page in Firefox and Safari, Firefox showed the emoji, Safari gave the squared questionmark. Above Safari (13.1.2), below Firefox (87.0). Also, I switched Adblock plus off on Safari but no change.
Sorry, I wasn't clear. Could you copy/paste here one of the characters which is supposed to be a heart but is not displaying as such? (not a graphic, the actually character).
That's still an image. I'd like to see what happens if you select those two squares on the instagram page, copy them, and then paste them right here in the forum. Will we all see two hearts?

That makes me think it may be a problem with Instagram's web page or server. Have you had similar problem with any other web pages?

That one does not seem to be an emoji. It's U+F022, something from the Unicode "private use area", which cannot be displayed without some kind of custom font. Very odd to see such a thing in a file name. Perhaps try pasting the entire name next time.
Can we imagine that you Selected All in Font Book, then Verified all Fonts?
Are those squares in Finder and Mail also definitely hearts? If not sure, try pasting them here as well.
I get no hearts here, assuming I'd have to login as a member.
We've pretty much proved its Safari, but was hoping I could see if it was just your Safari crippled in some way... running any Safari extensions?

Thanks BDAqua. Yes, verified and all green. Or are there other emoji fonts I'm not aware of? Or could it be that I have a lower version of the font? I have version 13.2d1e1 and BigSur is on 16.0d1e1. However, that would not explain why the heart emoticon is not shown in Safari/Instagram but is shown in the contextual menu of OSX (see example above).
No problem Tom. It's also in the first post. When you look carefully you'll see that the 2 squared questionmarks are highlighted. That's why I made that screenshot. To show that Safari/Instagram displays the hearts as squared questionmarks but the OSX contextual menu recognises them as hearts. That's the odd thing about it. Here it is again, isolated.
