Ipad screen cracked by itself?

I am a student who is using iPad to study. As usual, I was carrying my iPad in my backpack and I went to school. I took out my iPad and I saw that the screen was cracked at the bottom of my iPad(just around the home bottom). I had my screen protector and iPad cover. There wasn't any pressure or force that made the cause of broken screen(there wasn't even a charger in my backpack). I don't really know why the screen was broken. My iPad is still working but whenever I try to use it, it hurts my finger. And the sad thing is I don't have enough money for fixing it...

I’m not sure what you’re asking then? Accidental damage is not covered under warranty, so fees to fix it will apply even if you have AppleCare+ and use a damage claim. There is no way around that. In the USA the out of warranty fee for an iPad Air 3 is $379.00 or $49.00 with AppleCare+.

If you feel it wasn’t accidental damage and so should be fixed for free, it would be up to you to convince Apple Support of that.

The screen could have cracked as a delayed response to something you were doing with the iPad prior.

Did you put this iPad into your backpack while it was still warm/hot from previous use/activity?

If you cannot afford to fix/replace the device, then why are you posting here?

This is not Apple that you are addressing here.

We are all just volunteer Apple product customers/users here, just like yourself.

There is nothing we can do for you here.

Chances are, Apple is NOT going to fix or replace this device for free.

Especially so, if NO paid extended, two-year AppleCare+ warranty support.

Even with AppleCare+, a replacement device will have a replacement device fee of $49 U.S.D.

Either fix or replace the iPad or live with the screen damage, if the device is still working.

Sorry & Best of Luck to You!
