Refurbish Mac?

Hello! I am wanting to give my old laptop to my roommate and looking for advise on ways to update it or make it run a bit smoother for them? It’s a macbook pro and I’ve had it for probs 10 years now.

Imac upgrade I was given an IMac by the inlaws. It is approximately 3 years old. It was working fine for about a month and then got so slow I couldn’t use it. I tried all the basic things to speed it up. Is it worth spending any money on it? Or just get a new one.

Trading in old Mac I have a Mid 2011 13” MacBook Air that runs pretty well after being completely restored (it used to be my mom’s, but she was complaining of it running slow as she had so many huge apps on it). My problem, however, is that I need a newer computer for school. The only problems that it has is that it’s really finnicky when the wifi isn’t the strongest, and that the battery doesn’t last long enough to get me through a school day without being plugged in at all times. Otherwise, it works like a charm, and is reliable when it needs to be. All I need to know is if I can go to an Apple Store or somewhere else to trade it in for a newer computer.

update old Macbook Hi i have a macbook pro late 2011 this works really well and it is a shame that you can not update the software why have you done this Apple i have meny Apple products it seems a shame that you are building product and in a few years do not give the support this can't be good for the environment considering that you are trying to be good for the environment. are you thinking in the near future that you will give support or if not i feel you will lose a lot of business when the customer will wake up and start using other brands

An Apple authorized repair provider might be willing to have a look. But I’m not aware of a service that provides this.
