Apple Mail Folder [the one containing V8] is MISSING from Big Sur

Running Big Sur 11.2.3 on MacBook Pro M1 2020.

The missing folder was present 3 days ago, I thought no worries it is on Time Machine.

No such luck, however far back searched, it does not exist.

IIRC Time Machine was used to Restore the main Mail Folder in January 2021.

On my Mac Pro 5.1 2012 running High Sierra 10.13.6 the equivalent Folder is also missing.

Mail is functional in that it can Receive and Send messages.

All relevant Mailboxes have the appropriate content.

This seems to suggest that the main Mail Folder has not been destroyed but 'displaced'?

First thoughts on recovery were to Reinstall the macOS, but I also have no wish to make things even worse and would welcome advice on how to proceed.

Thanks in advance for help offered.

You can unhide that folder if you open the View Options for your Home folder.
Or, you can hold down the Option key and select Library from the Go menu in Finder.

Hello Barney-15E

You probably will not believe that I engaged in an Apple Support Chat and asked the question you have just answered.

Being honest with the Agent I admitted to accessing V8 to remove .emix Messages that should be removed by an App used for converting eMail into PDF.

Ever since the Library in question was hidden by Apple I 'parked' it on the Sidebar for convenience, and suffering from 'brain fade' does not help with incidents of this type. I'd forgotten completely about the important ~.

However there appears to be a positive side, in addition to your kind help, in that the App in question appears to have been 'rectified' and there should be less need to 'dive under the bonnet/hood' in future.

Thank you for taking the time to respond, it is sincerely appreciated.

Stay safe, very best wishes,

FG
