You will need a firewire cable coming of your camera and plugging into the firewire slot in your Mac. Newer Macs don't have a firewire slot, so in that case you will need to get adapters from FW>Thunderbolt 1>Thunderbolt 2, and if necessary to Thunderbolt 3 (USB-c).
