How to find a book created in iPhoto in 2008

I no longer have external back-up of a book I created via Apple's iPhoto from 2008 and want to find the file for this book (as well as one other one). My plan would be to then re-publish it using an app that creates books with hardcover. Is there a way to search electronic files that might be buried somewhere to re-download the book.

There is no single "file for a book", unless you exported the book as a PDF file. The book is a part of the iPhoto Library, distributed across many files in iPhoto Library package. You would have to find the old iPhoto Library from 2008, perhaps on an old backup disk, and open the iPhoto Library in iPhoto, then export it as a PDF file.

Even the best data recovery software will not be able to find a PDF file or an iPhoto Library you deleted in 2008. The disk blocks will be overwritten by now by other data.
