How do I start a new line with the Bezier tool?

In other words, how do I create two parallel lines using the Bezier tool?

Draw the first line and type the Return key to "finish" the Bezier line without closing. With the layer still selected, type Command-D to duplicate it. Change the tool to the Transform tool to drag one away from the other. If you leave the pen tool (Edit Points) on, there will be a chance that one or the other of the end stops will stay anchored to the same point on the previous line.
